Guard Card Certification Process: Step-by-Step
Here’s how Kingz Protection Security Services helps you earn your Guard Card the right way:
1️⃣ Complete the 8-Hour Guard Card Training (Required by BSIS)
This is the initial training all applicants must complete before applying for the Guard Card. The course consists of:
4 Hours – “Power to Arrest”
Learn the legal powers and limitations of a private security officer, including citizen’s arrest, use of force, and responsibility during an incident.4 Hours – “Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Awareness”
Understand how to detect and respond to terrorism-related threats in the workplace or public venues.

2️⃣ Submit Fingerprints and Background Check (Live Scan)
After completing the 8-hour training, applicants must complete a Live Scan fingerprinting session. This allows the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI to run a background check.
Kingz assists students with the paperwork and directs them to certified Live Scan locations.
3️⃣ Apply to BSIS
With your training certificate and Live Scan completed, Kingz will guide you through the process of registering with BSIS, the state licensing authority.

Pay the required state processing fee
Wait for approval and issuance of your Guard Card
4️⃣ Complete 32 Hours of Continuing Training (Within 6 Months)
Once licensed, the state requires additional continuing education:
16 Hours – Within the first 30 days on the job
16 More Hours – Within the first 6 months
